In 2020, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta received a number of lecturers for several study programs, namely Sports Education (1), Biology Education (1), Mathematics Education (1), Accounting Education (1), Civics Education (1), English Language Education (1), Informatics Engineering Education (1), Undergraduate Medical Education (1), Undergraduate Dentistry (3), Qur’anic and Interpretation (1), Islamic Economic Law (2), Mechanical Engineering (1), Informatics Engineering (1) ), Law (1), Psychology (1), Nursing (1), Science of Nutrition (1).
The 20 new lecturers were provided with several materials including:
1. Employment administration.
2. Basic Employment Regulations.
3. Lecturer Career Path.
4. Pension Fund.
5. IT Services for Lecturers.
These materials were given during orientation on August 10, 2020 at the UMS BPSDM Training Room. After the orientation material was delivered to UMS New Lecturers, on August 24-29 2020, it was scheduled to take part in the Basic Instructional Engineering Skills Improvement Training (in Bahasa known as PEKERTI) from 08.00 to 16.30. The materials presented to the participants were:
- Research and Preparation of Research Proposals by Dr. Agus Ulinuha.
- Intellectual Property (IP) and patent drafting / IP proposal by Prof. Dr. Kun. Harismah, M.Si.
- Community Service and Preparation of Community Service Proposals by Dr. Kuswaji.
- Utilization of SIMLITABMAS, ISRECOD, and other SI PPM by Rokmah Andria Pradessya, S.Kom.
- Introduction to My UMS, APS, and SINTA by Dr. Wisnu Setiawan.
- Writing of Scientific Publications (Metric publication, Index publication) by Dr. Waluyo Adi Siswanto.
- Writing a published article by Dr. Waluyo Adi Siswanto.
- Sharing experiences as a writer of articles and books by Dr. Aditya Saputra.
- Introduction to OBE: Education Quality Development at UMS towards outcome-based education international
- accreditation by Dr. Nur Hidayati.
- OBE-based curriculum design by Dr. Nur Hidayati.
- Learning Design by Dr. Nur Hidayati.
- Preparing RPS (theory and workshop) by Prof. Dr. Markhamah.

At the beginning of the activity, participants were given a pre-test and at the end of the activity, participants took a post-test. Enthusiasm was shown by the PEKERTI orientation and training participants. They were excited until the end of each session.
